BSF recovers narcotics dropped by Pakistani drone in Amritsar

The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a packet of heroin in Punjab's Amritsar on Sunday, said officials.

Amritsar : The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a packet of heroin in Punjab’s Amritsar on Sunday, said officials. This recovery was made from a harvested crop field adjacent to the Rajatal village of Amritsar district.


According to an official press release, “On April 28, BSF intelligence wing received information regarding the presence of a suspected packet in the border area of district Amritsar. BSF troops rushed to the spot and carried out an extensive search operation in the suspected area.”


“During the search, the troops recovered 1 packet of suspected heroin weighing 440 Grams. The suspected heroin was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a small LED light was attached to it,” the release added.

Narcotics recovered by BSF Punjab


The release further stated that a reliable input and swift response of BSF troops once again successfully foiled a smuggling attempt of narcotics from across the border.


On April 26, BSF along with the Punjab Police recovered a drone in the border area of Tarn Taran district.
