Bughesh Bhagel appointed as new general secretary of Punjab Congress unit

Chhattisgarh: The new congress general secretary of Punjab, former Chief Minister of Chhattisgrah Bhupesh Bhagel on Monday said that he will participate in the general secretary meeting called by the AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and will handle his new responsibility in the party. 

Speaking to the media, Bhupesh Bhagel said, “The President of Akhil Bharatiya Congress Committee, Mallikarjun Kharge has called for a meeting of the General Secretary and Incharge of all states at Indira Bhawan… I will meet all the leaders and handle my new responsibility…”

On February 14, All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge called for a major reshuffle in the party and appointed Bhupesh Bhagel as the general secretary of Punjab and Syed Naseer Hussain as general secretary in charge of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The new appointments included appointments of former general secretary BK Hariprasad as incharge of Haryana, Krishna Allavaru of Bihar, Rajani Patil of Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh and Harish Chaudhary of Madhya Pradesh.
