Chances of rain and snowfall in Himachal today; 25% less rain than normal in March

Shimla: There is a possibility of snowfall in the higher regions of Himachal Pradesh and light rain in the plains and medium altitude areas today. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert regarding snowfall in some areas of Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti.

On the other hand, warning of strong storm and lightning has been issued in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts. Rain is forecast in these districts today. Apart from these four districts, light rain may also occur in Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Una districts today. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain completely clear in the entire state from tomorrow for the next five days.

Temperatures in 7 cities crossed 30 degrees

A huge rise in temperature has been recorded before the rain and snowfall in the mountains. The temperature of seven cities has gone above 30 degrees Celsius. The temperature of Bilaspur has gone up to 34.6 degrees and Una to 34.4 degrees. The average maximum temperature of the state has gone up by 3.9 degrees above normal.

The temperature of Bilaspur has reached 34.6 degrees Celsius, 7.7 degrees above normal. The temperature of Shimla has reached 23.0 degrees, 5.6 degrees above normal, the temperature of Sundernagar has reached 32.2 degrees, 5.6 degrees above normal and the temperature of Solan has reached 30.5 degrees Celsius, 5.7 degrees above normal.

25% less rain and snowfall than normal in March

There was good rain and snowfall in the first week of March in the state. But the second and third week were dry. Due to this, till March 26, the state has received 25 percent less rain and snowfall than normal. From 1 to 25 March, the normal rainfall in the state is 100.9 mm, but this time, 75.7 mm of rain has fallen.
