Chandigarh: Notification regarding Chandigarh Mayor elections can come today i.e. on Tuesday. In this, a new date of election can be announced. The High Court has directed the DC for the current elections to finalize the date of the next elections under his supervision.
What will be the new date of election
The date of elections is being speculated to be 30th and 31st. Because the term of the current Mayor Kuldeep Kumar is ending on 29th, so the dates after this are being considered suitable for elections. The DC will have to decide the new date of elections.
The 27th is estimated for the mayor nomination from Aam Aadmi Party. On this day, they can bring forward their mayor candidate.
AAP’s mayor candidate
This year, only a woman is to be made the mayor, for which BJP has nominated its candidate Harpreet Kaur. Whereas the name of the candidate of the alliance of AAP and Congress has not been announced yet. Among the AAP mayor candidates, six names are ahead in which the names of AAP councillors Jaswinder Kaur, Anju Katiyal, Prem Lata, Suman, Neha, and Poonam have come forward.
