Indore: A female student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in interior design was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a hostel in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on December 5. The student, identified as Kashish Badhwani from Gwalior, was discovered unconscious outside a bathroom in the hostel early in the morning. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The incident occurred at a private hostel under the jurisdiction of Lasudia police station. The police team arrived at the scene and began an investigation. Badhwani had been staying at the hostel for the past few years. Her roommate noticed her unconscious and alerted the staff.
Police learned that Badhwani had been upset and had not been speaking to anyone for the past few days. She had also stopped taking calls from her father, M. Badhwani, and had not confided in anyone at the hostel about any issues.
The authorities have sent the body for post-mortem, and the cause of death is yet to be determined. Police have questioned several hostel mates, college friends, and staff, and have searched her room. While preliminary investigations suggest the possibility of suicide, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report. The police have also recovered her phone and will analyze her call records as part of the ongoing investigation.
