Chandigarh: A controversy has erupted before rapper and singer Honey Singh’s concert scheduled for today at the Rally Ground in Sector 25, Chandigarh. Punjab BJP leader Subhash Sharma has written a letter to Governor Gulab Chand Kataria requesting him to cancel Honey Singh’s concert.
The BJP leader says that March 23 is a day to remember the martyrs. There should be no concert or celebration on this day. He released a video on social media to inform about this. Apart from this, the Chandigarh administration has completed the preparations for the concert.
CCTV cameras have been installed to keep a close watch on the program. Tickets for the show have also been sold out. Chandigarh Police has issued an advisory stating that routes will be diverted after 4 pm today.
BJP leader said- This day is only for remembering the martyrs
BJP leader Subhash Sharma released a video and said- Today I have written a letter to the Governor of Punjab. I have requested him that March 23 is the martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. On this day the whole country remembers the martyrs and salutes them. I was very sad to know that on this day pop singer Honey Singh’s concert is going to be held in Chandigarh.
This day is to remind the youth of the country about the valor of the martyrs, it is a day to learn from them. Not to hold concerts or celebrate. I have requested the governor not to allow concerts on this day. Only the martyrs should be remembered on this day.
No parking facility at the concert venue .
Meanwhile, Chandigarh Police has said to go via Madhya Marg and Dakshin Marg. There will be no parking facility at the concert venue in Sector-25. Meanwhile, the DC has ordered for tight security arrangements. After the order, senior officers of Chandigarh Police inspected the rally ground. Also, DSP, Inspector and police force have been deployed.
Surveillance will be done through CCTV cameras.
To make the security even more secure, CCTV cameras will be installed inside and outside the show, so that every movement is captured in them. Along with this, police will also be deployed in the surrounding areas. Because a few days ago in the adjoining Sector-25, a case of death of a youth named Ankit in a fight and assault on an ASI came to light.
The stage where Honey Singh will stand and sing has been set up at the rally ground in Sector 25. Decorations are being done around it. The team of bouncers has reached the rally ground.
