Ludhiana: A day after a financier shot at the couple in Prem Nagar area of Mullanpur Dakha, the police arrested the accused on Saturday.
The incident had occurred on Friday evening when the couple was at their grocery shop in Prem Nagar area. According to the police, there was a monetary dispute between the couple and the financier following which the accused opened fire at the couple using a revolver.
The accused has been identified as Surinder Singh alias Shinda of Jassowal.
SI Gurwinder Singh, SHO, Dakha police station, after the incident, the police recorded the statement of the victims — Raj Kumar and his wife Gudiya and today conducted a raid and arrested accused Surinder Singh.
SI said that the victim had taken a loan of around Rs 70000 from the accused and they were not returning the amount and this triggered the incident.
On Friday, the victim Raj Kumar stated that the accused was misbehaving with his wife and when he turned up and intervened, the accused opened fire at them and fled leaving them injured.
