DC office employees withdraw strike call after meeting with cabinet minister Mundian

The organization had announced a protest from January 15 to January 17.

Jalandhar: The strike call given by the DC office employees of Punjab has been withdrawn. All work was to be affected for three days from tomorrow i.e. Wednesday in many districts including Jalandhar. But on Monday night, the employees met with the Revenue and Housing and Urban Development Minister of Punjab Government, Hardeep Singh Mundian. After the meeting, the strike has been postponed. The minister has assured that all the demands will be met soon.

The state president of the employees union, Tejinder Singh Nangal, had said that the government is not paying any attention to our demands. This is the reason why the strike has been called after discussions with all the state and district leaders of the DC Office Employees Union Punjab.

The organization had announced a protest from January 15 to January 17. The president had said that even after the struggle, if the government does not fulfill the demands, then the organization will intensify the struggle and announce the next action on January 18.

The employees were demanding from the government that there are very few opportunities for promotion to the post of senior assistant in DC offices. After joining the job, it takes about 27-28 years to get promoted to the post of Senior Assistant. Therefore, the promotion quota for Senior Assistants should be increased to 100%.

In SDM offices, the post of Superintendent Grade-2 Revenue and Records has been upgraded from Senior Assistant. Therefore, SDM can amend the relevant rules or issue a letter. Superintendent Grade-2, Revenue and Records in offices should be promoted from Senior Assistant only.
