Mumbai: On December 7, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone joined forces with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh for a concert in Bengaluru, where she dazzled the audience with an energetic performance. This event was notable as it marked Deepika’s first public appearance since the birth of her daughter, Dua, and held special meaning for her since it took place in her hometown where she spent her early years before launching her modeling career.
Deepika first gained fame with her role in ‘Om Shanti Om’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she has maintained a remarkable track record at the box office. In 2023, she starred in two blockbuster films with SRK: ‘Pathaan’ and a cameo in ‘Jawan,’ both of which played a crucial role in revitalizing the Bollywood industry after the pandemic.
Before her recent project ‘Singham Again,’ Deepika also featured in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ alongside renowned actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas, showcasing her versatility and pan-Indian appeal.
Diljit Dosanjh has experienced a rapid rise in his career, achieving significant box office success in both Hindi and Punjabi films over the past couple of years. Notably, he became the first Indian artist to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2023, with another Punjabi star, A. P. Dhillon, set to perform in April 2024. Additionally, Diljit collaborated with Sia on the track ‘Hass Hass’ and shared the stage with Ed Sheeran in Mumbai earlier this year. His concerts have captivated audiences across India, solidifying his status as one of the wealthiest musicians in the country.
