According to initial information, the derailment occurred at approximately 5:30 PM when one coach of the Delhi–Ghaziabad passenger train jumped the tracks near the Shivaji Bridge yard, causing brief panic among commuters.

A team from the Indian Railways, along with disaster response and maintenance units, was promptly dispatched to the site to carry out relief and clearance operations. Authorities cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, while railway services on adjacent lines experienced temporary disruption.

“The coach derailed just outside Shivaji Bridge station. All passengers are safe. An inquiry has been initiated to determine the cause,” a Northern Railway spokesperson said.
