Delhi man, nephew shot; assailants touch victim’s feet before opening fire

A 40-year-old man and his teenage nephew were killed, while his 10-year-old son was injured after two armed assailants opened fire outside their home in the Farsh Bazar area of Shahdara, Delhi, on Thursday, according to authorities. The victims, identified as Akash Sharma, also known as Chottu, and his 16-year-old nephew Rishabh Sharma, were celebrating.

The victims, identified as Akash Sharma, also known as Chottu, and his 16-year-old nephew Rishabh Sharma, were celebrating Diwali when the incident occurred. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers approached Akash Sharma, touched his feet, and then opened fire.

Emergency services received a call around 8:30 pm, prompting a police team to respond. They discovered blood at the scene and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced Akash and Rishabh dead on arrival, while Krish is currently undergoing medical treatment.

Police indicated that initial assessments suggest the shootings were motivated by personal enmity. Investigations are ongoing, and the statements of the victims’ family members are being taken as part of the inquiry.
