New Delhi: The former Chief Minister of Delhi on Wednesday in a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party said that in its 20 ruled states the party failed to provide 24 hours electricity to its residents adding that Delhi is the only place getting 24 hours of power supply.

While addressing a gathering  at Jahangirpur Assembly Constituency, Kejriwal said, “Friends, you have assigned me the responsibility of Delhi for the last ten years. (You) made me the Chief Minister of Delhi…We executed several works. But you will agree with one thing. The electricity has been made available 24 hours. Are there power cuts? Do you need a generator or an inverter? It is a big thing”.

“The BJP has a government in 20 states. There are not 24 hours of electricity in any one of the BJP states,” he claimed, asking the people to verify his claims by making phone calls in these states.

“If you press the wrong button Lotus symbol of the BJP- then there will be power cuts,” he said, asking the voters to press the button for the broom-AAP’s election symbol- to get 24 hours of electricity. ” The electricity is cheap in Delhi in the entire country…It is a miracle,” he said, highlighting the schemes of the ruling AAP government in the last ten years.

Targeting the BJP, Kejriwal alleged, ” At least everyone gets a bill of Rs 5000 in the BJP states…These (BJP) people have announced to stop the free electricity if they are voted to power…Where will you get such an amount to pay Rs 5000 out of a salary of Rs 20, 000, Rs 25,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 50,0000″

The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5, with the counting of votes scheduled for February 8.
