New Delhi : Amid the water crisis in Delhi, the BJP and Congress are attacking the Aam Aadmi Party. On Saturday, the BJP accused the AAP of doing drama instead of fixing the issues of theft and leakage in pipelines. State BJP president Virendra Sachdeva accused Aam Aadmi Party ministers and MLAs of stealing water.

At the same time, the Congress, which contested the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the AAP, also attacked the Delhi government over the water crisis. A ‘Matka Phod’ protest was held in 280 blocks in Delhi on Saturday under the leadership of state Congress president Devendra Yadav.

With pots on their heads and placards in their hands, the protesters raised slogans against the Delhi government and CM Kejriwal. Later, they broke the pots by slamming them on the ground. They demanded a special session of the Assembly to discuss the issue of water crisis.

Here, AAP MLAs wrote a letter to Union Water Power Minister CR Patil and requested him to intervene to resolve the water crisis.

BJP will protest on a large scale

Sachdeva said why are AAP leaders doing drama about the water situation. They should stop the theft and leakage of water by tanker mafia, which is manipulating up to 70% of the drinking water produced in Delhi today. BJP will protest against the Delhi government on a large scale on Sunday. He said, when the Supreme Court has said that only the Yamuna River Board can give additional water, then why is AAP going to the Union Water Minister.

Atishi called a high-level review meeting

Meanwhile, Water Minister Atishi in the Delhi government called a high-level emergency meeting to review the steps taken to deal with the water crisis. Atishi said that the water in the Wazirabad pond has almost finished. Munak canal gets water from two other canals, but there is a shortage of water in that too.

He said that water production in Delhi has reduced by 70 MGD. All the 7 water treatment plants getting water from Munak canal are giving less water. AAP’s chief whip in the assembly Dilip Pandey demanded intervention and coordination from the North Indian states to provide more water to Delhi.
