Mumbai: Television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee and her husband Shanawaz Shaikh have joyfully welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on December 18.
The actress shared the wonderful news on social media with an adorable post that read, “Thrilled to announce the arrival of our bundle of joy, our baby boy 18.12.2024. Elated parents, Devoleena and Shanawaz.” The caption on the post said, “Hello world! Our little angel BOY is here 18.12.2024.”
Following the announcement, congratulatory messages poured in from friends and colleagues. Celebrities like Arti Singh, Paras Chhabra, Rajiv Adatia, and Kajal Pisal sent their best wishes. Actress Supriya Shukla wrote, “Congratulations to both of you.. N love to the little one,” while Jayati Bhatia offered her blessings in Bengali, saying, “Onek Aashirbaad o Ador” (Lots of blessings and love).
For those who don’t know, Devoleena married her gym trainer Shanawaz in December 2022 in a private court wedding in Lonavala, with only their closest friends in attendance.
In August 2024, Devoleena had announced her pregnancy with a creative post, where she wore a white T-shirt reading, “You can stop asking now,” with toddler footprints. The post featured her posing with Shanawaz and their pet dog, radiating happiness. Devoleena had written in the caption, “Celebrating the divine journey to motherhood with the sacred Panchamrit ritual, where tradition and love blend to bless the mother and her unborn child with health, prosperity, and joy.”
On the professional front, Devoleena is best known for her iconic role as Gopi Bahu in the popular television series Saath Nibhaana Saathiya (2010-2017). She also participated in Bigg Boss 13, Bigg Boss 14, and Bigg Boss 15. After her marriage, she began working on a TV show, Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, but had to quit due to her pregnancy. Sneha Wagh replaced her on the show.
