Mumbai: Diljit Dosanjh has arrived in Guwahati for a concert scheduled for Sunday, drawing a large crowd of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the Punjabi superstar. In photos and videos shared on social media, he was seen wearing athleisure attire while navigating through the throngs of admirers.

Known for his hugely popular concerts across India, Diljit has become one of the wealthiest musicians in the country. Recently, he addressed allegations regarding the spelling of Punjab, which sparked a controversy. On his X account, he expressed his thoughts, emphasizing the complexities of the English language, particularly for non-native speakers.

He explained that a simple mistake, like not including the Indian flag in a tweet where he wrote “Panjab,” was blown out of proportion, suggesting it was treated as a conspiracy. He further stated, “If you write ‘Panjab’ instead of ‘Punjab’, it will remain ‘Punjab.’ Panj Aab — 5 Rivers. Bravo to those who create conspiracies around language usage. I will write ‘Panjab’ if I choose. How many times do we need to prove our love for India? Is creating conspiracies really what you get paid for? #Vehley.”

Diljit has experienced a remarkable rise in recent years, highlighted by the success of his films in both Hindi and Punjabi cinema. He made history as the first Indian performer at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2023, a milestone later followed by fellow Punjabi artist A. P. Dhillon in April 2024.

As the India leg of his Dil-Luminati tour comes to a close, Diljit will perform in Ludhiana on December 31, a show he announced on his Facebook page.
