Haryana: District Magistrate DC Nishant Kumar Yadav said that under these orders, no booth will be set up by the candidates of political parties within a distance of 200 meters from the polling station. There shall be only one booth of the candidate for such group of polling stations beyond a distance of 200 meters from such premises. The booth will be accompanied by an umbrella, tarpaulin or a piece of cloth to protect the two persons sitting on those chairs from the weather conditions. Such booth will not be surrounded by fence or tent etc.
District Election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav said that no person will be allowed to carry or use mobile phone, wireless phone, etc. Within a radius of 100 meters of the polling stations which is called polling station neighborhood and inside the polling station. However, these instructions will not apply to police officers, security personnel, duty magistrates, sector officers deployed on election duty etc. responsible for maintaining law and order.
Any person violating this order will be liable for prosecution and punishment under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other applicable acts/rules.
