According to the Meteorological Department, there should be 66.4 mm normal rainfall in the state from January 1 to 26. But, this time only 14.7 mm of clouds have rained in January. Earlier, there has been 19 percent less rainfall than normal in the monsoon season as well. After the monsoon, i.e. in the post-monsoon season, there was 98 percent less rainfall than normal in October and November.

There was definitely good rain and snowfall in the second and third week of December. But it has not been raining since the last week of December. However, the Meteorological Department has warned of good rain and snowfall many times. But every time the Western Disturbance is weakening without rains. Due to this, drought has started affecting us.

Cold wave alert in 4 districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for cold wave in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Mandi districts today. These districts will experience severe cold due to cold winds blowing during night and morning. Due to the cold wave, nights in the plains of the state have been getting cold for the last three days, while the night temperature in Shimla is also continuously increasing.

The weather will deteriorate again from tomorrow night

According to the weather department, the western disturbance is getting active again from last night. Due to this, there is a forecast of rain and snowfall in the mountains again for the next 4 days. From 28 to 30 January, clouds will rain in the high and medium altitude areas, while on 31 January the weather will be bad in most parts of the state.

Huge rise in temperature, Kelang’s mercury is 11.8 degrees higher than normal
