The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday raided more than 15 places in Punjab, Himachal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. This raid was also conducted in Deol Nagar and Tarn Taran in Jalandhar, Punjab. This raid was conducted in Punjab by the Jalandhar ED team. At the same time, raids were also conducted simultaneously in different parts of the country on the basis of this case registered by Jalandhar ED.

Raids were conducted simultaneously in 6 states as part of the money laundering investigation related to the drug smuggling syndicate. Sources associated with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said that this action was taken under a case registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The raid in Jalandhar was conducted at the house of Imtiaz Salmani, an accused arrested in the Tramadol supply case, located in Deol Nagar.
According to the information, last year, the Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab Police had filed an FIR under the NDPS Act and registered a case against two drug smugglers. After which an alleged middleman Alex Paliwal was also named in the said case.
ED teams also reached the premises of many companies
The agency had raided the houses of some individuals in the case and also the premises of some pharmaceutical companies namely Biogenetic Drugs Pvt Ltd, CB Healthcare, Smilax Pharmachem Drug Industries, Soul Health Care (I) Pvt Ltd and Aster Pharma. In its crackdown last year, Punjab Police had arrested seven people and seized a huge quantity of pharma drugs used to make narcotic drugs.
