Election workers not have complete first aid

For the election authorities who would be on duty on voting day medical care is taken care.

Ambala : The Election Department is busy in preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. For an emergency the health department has prepared a first aid kit for the election workers. There is no antiseptic liquid, antiseptic gel, bandages etc. in this kit. In such a situation, if any emergency situation arises, the employee will have to wait for the ambulance.

The kit provided by the Health Department contains five tablets each for fever, pain, vomiting, burning sensation, itching, allergy, diarrhea and stomach ache.

Along with this,only one packet of ORS is provided in the kit. In such a situation, if the employees face any problem due to heat, they will have to wait.

There 906 voting booths in Ambala, more than 1000 have been ready for them. At every booth 6-7 people will be available. In this heatwave, how single ORS packet is sufficient for all in a team. The packet is of 250ml and it is only for a single person.

During the voting day if someone get ill at that time, for this 8-10 ambulace are been deployed for any kind of emergency. In an Ambulance the primary health care facility is available. If any kind of changes needed in the kit then they will also be made.

SMO Dr. Sukhpreet Singh said that adequate quantity of ORS packets are available with the department. Different departments can get ORS packets from the Health Department depending on their needs. It is noteworthy that recently the Health Department had sent a demand for 50 thousand ORS packets. Eight thousand packets are already available with the department.
