Rohtak : Farmers movement has completed 30 days but the situation remains the same. Due to the agitation that started on April 17, the operation of 5144 trains has been affected till May 16.
During this period, 2017 trains were completely cancelled. At the same time, 2043 trains were re-operated through alternative routes and 394 trains were cancelled midway, while 690 goods trains were sent to their destinations through alternative routes.
Actually, farmers are protesting on the railway line near Shambhu railway station on Ambala-Sahnewal railway section. Their demand is that their movement will continue until their comrades arrested by the police will not released. Due to this, Railways has suffered a loss of billions of rupees. Thousands of passengers are suffering the consequences every day.
On the other hand, due to change in the routes of trains, trains travelling from Amritsar and Jammu are running late by hours. Despite all the efforts of the railway officials, a plan is not being made for the timely operation of trains.
Due to this, railway passengers are forced to wait for hours at stations. On the other hand, in view of the problem of passengers, Railways has issued instructions to the staff posted at the cooperation center to update the information about trains every two hours.
188 trains will be affected in the next three days.
Railways also released the list of trains affected from 17 to 19 May on Thursday evening. In this, it has been decided to keep 69 trains cancelled for the next three days, while it has been decided to re-operate 104 trains by changing the route and 15 trains by canceling them mid-way. If there is any change in the operation of trains during this period, then its information will also be shared with the passengers.
Due to the farmers’ movement, Railways is suffering a lot of loss and passengers are also panicked.
Due to single track, it is taking more time to ensure safe train movement. It is expected that this problem will be resolved soon and then all trains will start operating as before.
