Rajpura : Due to the protest of the farmers on the railway track at the Shambhu railway station in Rajpura, the problems of the railway are increasing. 106 trains of Ferozepur division were affected on Monday due to the protest. 40 to 60 trains had to be cancelled.
Railways has decided to cancel 80 trains till Wednesday. These also include trains running from Delhi to Punjab. Railway officials say that the situation is being monitored. Officials are in touch with Punjab and Haryana governments.
On the other hand, Senior DCM of Ferozepur Railway Division Paramdeep Singh Saini said that 4765 passengers have been given a refund of 25.09 lakh rupees due to the cancellation of trains in Ferozepur Division in five days.
Passengers are facing a lot of problems due to train traffic being affected for the last six days. Due to diversion of long distance trains, trains are running late.
The Mahapanchayat in Jind will take a decision to speed up the agitation on 27th
On the other hand, a large number of farmers arrived to participate in the Mahapanchayat to be held in Jind, Haryana on Monday under the leadership of the United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha.
It has been decided in the Mahapanchayat that the next decision to intensify the agitation will be taken on April 27. After this, the farmers sitting on the railway track in Shambhu also held a meeting in the evening. Farmer leaders says that till the release of farmers Anish Khatkar, Navdeep Singh and Gurkirat Singh who were arrested by the Haryana Police, the protest will continue on the railway track.
