Bathinda: Farmers observed Shaheedi Diwas in Bathinda today. Meanwhile, the United Kisan Morcha has made a big announcement. The Morcha will observe Black Day across the country on March 28. To prepare for this, meetings will be held at the district level on March 24. The reason for this protest is the behavior of the Punjab government with the farmer leaders.
The government first called the farmer leaders for a meeting. Then arrested them. After this, bulldozers were run on their protest site. In Bathinda, Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan observed the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. A district level gathering was held in Dana Mandi. District President Shingara Singh Maan said that even today the country is not completely independent.
He said that big corporate houses are snatching everything from the farmers. Farmers and poor labourers are being tortured. Farmer leaders have demanded that the arrested comrades be released immediately. Also, their confiscated goods should be returned unconditionally. They will wage an intense struggle for the release of their leaders in the coming days.
