Jammu: Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and president of the National Conference (NC), stated on Sunday that the persistent pollution in New Delhi will not diminish unless the national capital is moved to another location.

Speaking to the media, Abdullah emphasized that the severe air quality issues plaguing the city, which recorded an air quality index (AQI) of 428 this morning, will continue as long as Delhi remains the capital.

Regarding the performance of the NC government, led by Omar Abdullah, which has been in office for one month, he expressed confidence in their accomplishments and commitment to fulfilling their manifesto over the next five years.

He also addressed criticisms from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti, questioning her concerns about the NC’s intentions regarding their election promises.

When asked about security meetings in the union territory that did not include Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, he reassured that everything would unfold in due course, given their recent assumption of power.

On the topic of demands from Hindu organizations for a board similar to the Muslim Waqf board, he noted that this issue is currently under discussion in Parliament, which will reconvene on November 25.
