Patiala: The police in Patiala on Thursday claimed to arrest five men allegedly involved in criminal activities, recovering five illegal pistols and 23 rounds of ammunition from their possession.

The accused, identified as Harpreet alias Butter, Lovepreet alias Billa, Ramanpreet alias Raman, Harpreet alias Happy, and Ram Singh alias Raman, were apprehended while traveling in a Swift Dzire car.

Authorities revealed that three of the accused had prior criminal records and had formed a gang while in prison. Harpreet Butter had previously been jailed for a double murder at a petrol pump, while Lovepreet Billa was involved in another murder case. Ramanpreet also had multiple criminal cases against him. The other two accused, although without past records, became involved in the gang through drug addiction.

Investigations indicate that the weapons were supplied at the behest of gangster Money Pinder, who is currently abroad.

Reports suggest the accused were assigned a target for a planned killing in the Patiala or Moga area. The suspects allegedly contacted Money Pinder via Instagram and received instructions remotely.

Police are now probing the gang’s links to international criminals, including Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi. Further investigations are underway to determine their exact role in organized crime.
