Germany provides technical, financial support to Bangladesh

Dhaka: Bangladesh and Germany have entered into two agreements regarding financial and technical cooperation, amounting to over 180 million euros (approximately $190.8 million). The agreements were signed by Md Shahriar Kader Siddiky, secretary of the Economic Relations Division at Bangladesh’s Ministry of Finance, and Achim Troster, the German ambassador to Bangladesh, as reported by Xinhua.

Of the total funds, 45.8 million euros will be allocated for technical cooperation, while up to 135 million euros will be designated for financial cooperation. The collaboration will focus on various sectors, including renewable energy and energy efficiency, sustainable urban development, vocational training, the establishment of environmentally friendly supply chains, trade and infrastructure, biodiversity protection, and a project aimed at combating domestic violence against women and children.
