New Delhi Vibhakar Shastri, grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, has left the Congress. He joined BJP today itself. This is another blow to the Congress before the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Vibhakar Shastri had contested the elections from Fatehpur Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh in the year 1998 on Congress ticket, but could get only 24,688 votes. Tried his luck again in the year 1999, in which he was able to get 95,000 votes and in the year 2009, he was able to get one lakh votes. Even after trying three times, he could not save the legacy of his father Harikrishna Shastri.
