Haryana: Red-alert of heat wave in 15 districts: Temperature surge to 46 degrees, heat will scorch for 9 days

Meteorological Department has put 15 districts on red alert in view of the heat wave (loo). These districts include Hisar, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Jind, Bhiwani, Sonipat, Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal and Nuh.

Panchkula : Nautapa is starting from today in Haryana. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has put 15 districts on red alert in view of the heat wave (loo). These districts include Hisar, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Jind, Bhiwani, Sonipat, Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal and Nuh.

Whereas, Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat are on yellow alert. The mercury is expected to exceed 46 in the red alert districts.

During this time, hot winds will also blow at a speed of 30 km per hour.

No respite from heat for next 3 days
There does not seem to be any respite from the heat in Haryana for the next 3 days. Similar conditions will prevail on 26th and 27th May also. During this period, strong hot winds will blow. During Nautapa there is severe heat for 9 consecutive days.

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be an increase of 1 to 2 percent in the maximum day temperature and minimum night temperature. Here, doctors say that the risk of dehydration increases in this season. A case of death of a 70-year-old man due to dehydration was also reported on May 22 in Hansi, Haryana.

Water coolers will be installed in schools
The Education Department has issued orders to install water coolers and RO in schools. In the order issued by the headquarters, all the district education officers have been asked to immediately send this information on the official mail ID of the department. The department has taken this order in view of the continuous heat.

Meteorologists say that the biggest reason for the heat is that there has been 31% less rainfall in the last two and a half months. More than normal rainfall has occurred in 4 districts Jind, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Karnal and Ambala has received near normal rainfall.

Whereas, 17 districts have received less than normal rainfall. There should have been 35 mm rainfall in the state till May 20, but 24.8 mm rainfall has been recorded. Haryana has received only 4.2 mm rainfall so far in May, whereas 11.3 mm rainfall is considered normal in this month.

All schools are closed
In view of the heat, holidays have been declared till May 24 and 31 for children from nursery to 5th and 8th class in 15 districts. Holidays for children from nursery to 5th class have been extended till today (May 24) in Karnal, Kaithal, Rewari, Sonipat and till May 31 in Panchkula and Mahendragarh.

Apart from this, holidays have been declared for classes from nursery to 8th class in Hisar, Kurukshetra, Sirsa, Nuh, Bhiwani, Yamunanagar, Fatehabad, Jind, Panipat till today (May 24).
