Shimla: The heat wave is continuously increasing in Himachal Pradesh. On Saturday, heat wave blew in eight districts of the state, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra, Kullu, Shimla, Mandi and Sirmaur.
Maximum temperature was recorded above 40 degrees in nine areas of the state. The continuously increasing heat has made life miserable. There is no relief even at night due to rising minimum temperature.
There are chances of heat wave in the state till June 17. There is a possibility of getting some relief from pre-monsoon showers in the state from June 18.
Due to the activity of western disturbance, there are chances of rain in most areas of the state from June 18 to June 21. There is a forecast of monsoon entering the state by the end of June.
Bright sunshine shone in all the areas of the state including the capital Shimla on Saturday. The heat of the sun has increased in the hilly areas along with the plain districts.
Most of the tourist places of the state have become crowded with tourists these days. Tourists are turning to the mountains to get relief from the scorching heat in the plains. These days the maximum temperature in the hilly areas is around 30 degrees.
The mercury has reached between 40 and 45 degrees in the plains. Most of the hotels in the capital Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, Kasauli and Dharamshala are fully occupied these days.
The Meteorological Center Shimla has issued a yellow alert for heat wave in most areas on Sunday and Monday as well.
On the other hand, on Friday night, the minimum temperature was recorded at 20.4 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 25.8 in Dharamsala, 22.7 in Una, 26.1 in Nahan, 21.0 in Solan, 13.1 in Manali, 23.3 in Kangra, 20.4 in Mandi, 22.0 in Bilaspur, 21.3 in Hamirpur, 21.2 in Chamba, 19.9 in Dalhousie, 24.5 in Dhaula Kuan, 24.2 in Kasauli, 27.0 in Dehra Gopipur and 29.0 degrees Celsius in Paonta Sahib.
