Heavy rain expected in Himachal after 3 days; Big drop in temperature

Light rain is forecast in most parts tomorrow and day after tomorrow. During this time, thunderstorms and storms can also occur in many areas.

There is no sign of monsoon entering Himachal Pradesh for the next three to four days. The Meteorological Department Center Shimla has already issued an orange alert for heavy rain. Heavy rain is forecast in Shimla and Mandi on 21 and 22 June.

Western Disturbance will be more active on 20 June. After this, there will be heavy rain in the plains and medium altitude areas. Even today, good rain is forecast in some areas of medium altitude. Light rain is forecast in most parts tomorrow and day after tomorrow. During this time, thunderstorms and storms can also occur in many areas.

During the last 24 hours in the state, it has rained in most parts. Especially in many parts of Bilaspur, Shimla, Hamirpur, Kullu, Kangra and Sirmaur district, the water level in the rivers and streams has increased after heavy rains. Sundarnagar received the highest rainfall of 47.0 mm. Shimla also received light rain at night and drizzle continues in the morning as well.

Significant drop in temperature

After the rain, a huge drop in temperature has been recorded. The average maximum temperature of the state has fallen 6.3 degrees below normal. Chamba’s temperature has dropped the maximum by 11.7 degrees to 26.4 degrees. Due to this the weather has become pleasant in the mountains.

Kangra’s temperature has dropped 9.5 degrees compared to normal to 29.0 degrees, Bhuntar’s temperature has dropped 9.1 degrees to 23.2 degrees, Manali’s temperature has dropped 7.1 degrees to 18.6 degrees, Bilaspur’s temperature has dropped 7.4 degrees to 29.7 degrees, Sundernagar’s temperature has dropped 6.2 degrees to 27.1 degrees and Mandi’s maximum temperature has dropped 5.8 degrees below normal to 26.6 degrees Celsius.
