Shimla: There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the high and medium altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh today. The effect of Western Disturbance will be seen in 7 districts of the state today. The weather will remain bad in the high altitude areas tomorrow as well.
According to the weather department, light rain and snowfall may occur in some areas of Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu, Shimla, Mandi, Chamba and Kangra districts for the next 48 hours. The weather will remain clear in other districts. The weather will become clear across the state from the day after tomorrow.
The temperature rose 5.7 degrees above normal
A huge rise in temperature has been recorded before the rain and snowfall in the mountains. The average maximum temperature of the state has increased by 5.7 degrees Celsius from normal. The temperature of Kangra has reached 25.6 degrees Celsius, 7.4 degrees Celsius more than normal.
The maximum temperature of Bhuntar increased by 7.2 degrees to 24.5 degrees, Kalpa increased by 7.2 degrees to 13.2 degrees, Shimla’s temperature increased by 6.0 degrees to 18.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature will decrease during the next two days.
74% less rain and snowfall than normal in winter season
In this winter season, from January 1 to February 9, the state has received 74 percent less rainfall than normal. The normal rainfall during this period is 111.6 mm. But this time, only 29.5 mm of rain has fallen.
