New Delhi: Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh recently suggested that Hindus should learn self-defense, similar to Israelis, in light of the ongoing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. In a social media post, he emphasized the importance of self-defense training, referencing the situation in Bangladesh and drawing parallels to how Israelis have adopted ‘Krav Maga’ for protection following the October 7 attack by Hamas.

His comments come as protests unfold across India condemning the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. The situation has escalated with the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Hindu priest charged with sedition, and reports of attacks on his lawyer, Advocate Ramen Roy, who is now critically injured in the hospital.

The Indian government has urged Bangladesh to protect its minority communities. Giriraj Singh has previously criticized the Bangladeshi government for acting under the influence of extremist elements, calling for UN intervention and stronger laws in India to prevent conversions.

Additionally, Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for elevating India’s global standing and reiterated support for the BJP’s “one nation, one election” initiative to promote national strength and progress.
