In the Badshahpur area of Gurugram, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) took strict action against illegally operated dairies and bulldozed them. This action was taken under the leadership of GMDA’s District Town Planner (DTP) RS Bath. Under which illegal encroachment on government land was removed.
It is being told that these dairies had encroached upon government land worth more than Rs 70 crore. A recent violent incident has also come to light in the background of this action. It is alleged that these illegal dairy operators had attacked the district president of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, Ashish Sharma, a few days ago.
The attack happened when Ashish and his team, in collaboration with Gurugram Municipal Corporation, caught the stray cows roaming on the streets.
The district head of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal was beaten to death
These cows were allegedly abandoned by dairy operators. Angry at the capture of the cows, the dairy operators barged into the office of the national Bajrang Dal leader and attacked him. Ashish Sharma was badly injured in the attack and is still on bed rest. This incident created a lot of uproar at the local level, after which the administration took the matter seriously.
Action against illegal construction and encroachment will continue
GMDA DTP RS Bath said that this action was taken to remove illegal encroachment. Investigation revealed that dairy operators had illegally occupied government land and set up dairies. The estimated cost of this land is said to be more than Rs 70 crore.
Action in presence of police
Heavy police force was deployed during the action to avoid any untoward situation. Locals have welcomed this action. The Municipal Corporation and GMDA now plan to take more strict measures to keep an eye on such activities. Local residents have demanded that regular monitoring and strict action be taken to prevent such incidents in future.
