Bilaspur: Bharatiya Janata Party’s National President and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda is reaching Bilaspur today. Nadda is coming to his home for the first time after the spectacular victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. Therefore, Himachal BJP has organized a felicitation ceremony for him.
BJP leaders and workers will give a grand welcome to JP Nadda in Bilaspur in the afternoon. Nadda will also lay the foundation stone of ‘Deep Kamal’ building in Raghunathpura Gram Panchayat near the Turpentine Factory in Jabli at 2:30 pm.
He will be accorded a grand welcome at Circuit House Bilaspur at 3:15 PM. During this time, many senior BJP leaders of the state will also be present.
Discussion can be held regarding Himachal BJP President
During his Bilaspur visit, JP Nadda can also discuss about the new BJP president of Himachal. The BJP had to elect a president in the state by December 15. But due to the large number of contenders, the selection of the new president is pending.
Jairam camp is lobbying for Rajiv Bhardwaj-Sikander
The main reason behind this is believed to be factionalism. It is being said that the faction of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur does not want Rajiv Bindal to become the president again. Sources say that Jairam Thakur is putting forward the names of Rajiv Bhardwaj and Dr. Sikandar Kumar for the post of president.
Contender for the presidency
The other faction wants to weaken Jairam by making Rajiv Bindal the president. However, apart from Rajiv Bindal, Rajiv Bhardwaj and Sikandar, Trilok Kapoor, Indu Goswami, Bikram Thakur, Vipin Singh Parmar and Satpal Satti are also being considered contenders for the post of president. It will depend on the high command as to whom the party makes the president.
