London: Industrialist Sunjay Kapur, chairman of Sona Comstar and former husband of actor Karisma Kapoor, died on Wednesday following a heart attack. He was 53.
Kapur reportedly collapsed while playing polo in the United Kingdom. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. His death was confirmed by close friend and author Suhel Seth, who posted a tribute on social media.
Kapur, a prominent figure in India’s automotive components industry, was known for his leadership at Sona Comstar, a key supplier in the global electric vehicle market. He was also a fixture in Delhi’s business and social circles.
He was previously married to Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor, with whom he shares two children. He later married model-entrepreneur Priya Sachdev.
