Kashmiri shawl sellers in Bilaspur accuse local traders of threatening to not sell their goods

After this SDM Ghumarvi ordered Ghumarvi police station to investigate the entire matter.

Bilaspur: Earlier in Himachal Pradesh, the issue of registration of migrant laborers coming from other states and people selling goods from door to door had heated up a lot. At the same time, some such panchayats also came up in various districts of the state, which had passed regulations and prohibited the entry of street vendors selling goods without registration in their panchayat.

At the same time, this issue had not yet completely subsided that once again trade rivalry has come to the fore between local traders and Kashmiri blanket and shawl sellers in Bilaspur district. Yes, the matter is of Ghumarvi city where about 21 shawl sellers who came from Kashmir have given a written complaint to SDM Ghumarvi Gaurav Chaudhary and accused the local traders of not allowing them to sell their goods and threatening them to go back to Kashmir.

After this SDM Ghumarvi ordered Ghumarvi police station to investigate the entire matter. At the same time, the matter was being investigated by calling both the parties in the police station Ghumarvi, but both the parties could not reach a mutual agreement on any issue. On the other hand, Kashmiri shawl sellers who reached Ghumarwin police station said that for the last 30 to 40 years, they have been continuously selling shawls and blankets in Ghumarwin city and nearby areas and they have also got themselves registered in the local police station. Despite this, some local traders are stopping them from selling goods.

They are also being threatened to go back to Kashmir and be beaten up, for which they have demanded their security from the Congress government of the state and the government of Kashmir. On the other hand, local traders say that migrant goods sellers coming from other states go from house to house and sell goods without GST, due to which local traders are suffering losses.
