Patna: Faizal Khan, commonly known as Khan Sir, has been admitted to the ICU at Prabhat Memorial Hiramati Hospital in Patna due to dehydration and fatigue. His illness followed his participation in a protest by BPSC aspirants at Gardanibagh, where he expressed support for their cause against normalization.
Dr. Satish Kumar, the hospital’s CMD, confirmed that Khan Sir was suffering from severe dehydration that required saline treatment. Fortunately, his condition has improved significantly, and he is expected to be discharged by Sunday morning if his recovery continues without complications.
Khan Sir’s health issues began on Friday when he experienced persistent vomiting, which led to dehydration. Despite feeling unwell, he attended the protest, spoke with a magistrate for mediation, and later asked the police for help to return to his car. Authorities ensured his safe transport to Atal Path in Patna.
Although there were media reports on Friday evening claiming Khan Sir had been detained by the police, Patna’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajeev Mishra, clarified that he had not been arrested or detained. Similarly, Anu Kumari, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of the Sachiwalay range, confirmed that Khan Sir voluntarily visited the police station to discuss the situation with the magistrate and assisted in calming the protesters. Afterward, he requested police assistance to reach his car, and they escorted him safely back.
