Chandigarh: A few days after raising concerns about drug issues in the state, AAP convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that the law and order situation in Punjab is stable and conducive to industrial growth. Speaking at an event where he distributed appointment letters to 1,205 out of 1,746 new constables, Kejriwal claimed that anti-social elements were fleeing, asserting that Punjab has the best law enforcement under the AAP government. He noted that the remaining job letters could not be issued due to the model code of conduct in various districts.
Kejriwal praised the Punjab Police as the “most disciplined” force and announced plans to establish a model for law and order that would position Punjab as a role model in this area. He emphasized that ensuring the safety of residents is a top priority for the party and highlighted the advanced infrastructure and technology provided to the police to protect the public’s interests.
He also mentioned that the AAP government had attracted investments totaling Rs 60,000 crore, which would create over three lakh jobs and stimulate the state’s progress. Kejriwal criticized previous governments for neglecting the state over the past 75 years, while asserting that the AAP has made significant strides in the last two and a half years to restore its growth.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann noted that the recruitment letters were issued on the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, who sacrificed his life for the nation at a young age. Mann added that the state government plans to create 10,000 new positions within the police force to enhance its effectiveness.
