A 12th-class student committed suicide by hanging himself in Ludhiana. The deceased student has been identified as Jarnail Singh (17). Jarnail Singh had given the 12th class examination in Punjab Education Board. Reportedly, he committed suicide as he failed in the examination. Due to the stress of failing, he hanged himself and took his own life. The postmortem of the student’s body will be done today in the mortuary of Civil Hospital.
Giving information, SHO Gurshinder Kaur of Ladowal police station said that Jarnail Singh was a resident of village Chahar. The result of the 12th class examination of Punjab Education Board was announced. He used to study in a government school. He had failed in 3 subjects. Jarnail Singh’s father is a Granthi in Gurudwara Sahib. At night, he told the family that he was going to the roof to sleep.
When he did not come down till 8 am on Thursday, the family went to look for him. There he had tied a noose of his cloth on an iron angle. Jarnail was immediately taken to a private hospital, but he died there.
The Ladowal police station received a letter from the hospital, after which the police started investigating the case. At present, Jarnail’s body has been kept in the mortuary of the civil hospital for postmortem. After conducting the postmortem of Jarnail today, the body will be handed over to the family.
