This session marks the official start of a new legislative term following the recent Assembly elections in the state.

Kolambkar, a senior BJP leader with nine terms as an MLA under his belt, will oversee the swearing-in of the 288 newly-elected MLAs from December 7 to 9, culminating in the election of a new Speaker.

BJP MLA Parag Alavani highlighted the importance of the session, noting the significant mandate given to the coalition government by the people of Maharashtra. He mentioned that the next three days will see many returning members as well as some newcomers.

Another newcomer, Neha Dubey, a BJP MLA, also arrived at Vidhan Bhavan to take her oath, contributing to the excitement and fresh energy among the legislators.

Shiv Sena MLA Amshya Padvi, who is also set to be sworn in, reiterated his dedication to development, stating that he was elected on the promise of progress and that he aims to fulfill the expectations of his constituency after the previous MLA’s failure to deliver.
