Jalandhar: In a significant development in the ongoing corruption investigation involving Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Raman Arora, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has taken Municipal Corporation Inspector Harpreet Kaur into custody.
It has been learned that Harpreet Kaur’s name has come to the fore when a statement has been recorded by a bakery owner in which it has been said that he has given lakhs of rupees to the inspector in lieu of bakery construction.
Details said that this amount was demanded by Raman Arora, but when he went to give the money, Raman Arora allegedly asked him to make this payment to Harpreet Kaur. It is being told that the bakery owner gave the money to Harpreet Kaur. After which the Vigilance has taken the Municipal Corporation Inspector Harpreet Kaur into custody a while ago and started questioning her. Sources say that some more revelations can be made about the case.
It is worth noting that in this case ATP. Sukhdev Singh has already been caught by the vigilance, after which MLA Raman Arora has been arrested and is being questioned by the vigilance. Raman Arora’s associates Raju Madan, Makhija and others are still absconding.
