Himachal NCC student dies after drown in ravine

Went to take a bath after camp in Sunni, feet slipped, got a serious head injury

Shimla: A National Cadet Corps (NCC) student died after drowning in water in Sunni in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh yesterday evening. It is being said that before drowning in the water, the student’s feet slipped, and he got a deep injury on his head and died. Police have registered a case at the Sunni police station in Shimla district and started an investigation.

The deceased student has been identified as Kush Thakur, a Harthu village of Arki resident who was a BA final-year student at Kotshera College in Shimla. He had gone to Sunni NCC for camp with other Kotshera College students.

According to the police, the NCC camp occurred in Senior Secondary School Sunni on July 15. More than 500 students participated in it. The camp was closed on July 24. Yesterday the children started going to their homes. According to the police, during this time the children started insisting on taking a bath and washing clothes.

After this, the students of Kotshera College went to bathe in Nautikhad of Chaba, Sunni, with the physical education teacher. During this, Kush Thakur first got a head injury and then he drowned in the water. Whether the real cause of death is a head injury or drowning in water will be clear in the post-mortem report.

The police were informed about this yesterday evening, and Kush was taken to the hospital. But the doctors declared him dead. After conducting the post-mortem today, his body will be handed over to the family. It is being told that Kush was the only child of his parents.
