Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar criticized the former RJD administrations on Saturday, blaming them for the state’s underdevelopment.

During the inauguration of the state-level Krishi Yantrikaran Mela under Agro Bihar 2024 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, he stated that significant development was absent during the tenures of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi as Chief Ministers.

Kumar highlighted the progress made in the agriculture sector since he took office in November 2005, contrasting it with the lack of advancements during the RJD’s rule. “There was no development work in Bihar before 2005. They have done nothing for Bihar. When I took over, reforms began in every sector,” he declared.

The Chief Minister also pointed out his government’s initiatives in women’s empowerment, noting their increased representation across various fields as a key aspect of Bihar’s development under his leadership. “Today, a large number of women are employed in every sector. We are responsible for women empowerment in Bihar,” he said, emphasizing the state’s efforts to enhance opportunities for women in the workforce.

He stressed the significant changes in Bihar since 2005, stating, “The younger generation does not know about the situation before 2005. There was nothing in Bihar. Development work started after I came to power,” highlighting his administration’s commitment to progress across multiple sectors.

Kumar’s comments reflected his pride in the initiatives undertaken by his government to improve the state’s socio-economic and infrastructural conditions.

At the event, he was joined by Cabinet Minister Mangal Pandey and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha. The fair, which showcased modern agricultural equipment, also offered training programs and included cultural activities aimed at educating and engaging farmers.
