Abohar police arrests drug smuggler

50 kg of poppy husks were hidden in a room of stubble, and two brothers absconded from the spot. 

Abohar: On the orders of the SSP in Abohar, a campaign is being run by all the police stations against drug smugglers. Yesterday, while the police of Khuiyan Sarwar police station succeeded in recovering 66 kg of opium, today the Bahawalwala police station, while patrolling, arrested a youth in Bishanpura village along with a smuggler with 50 kg of poppy husk, while his two companions were out of police custody. The police have registered a case against all of them.

According to the information, Sub Inspector Jaswinder Singh of the Bahawalwala police station was patrolling near the village of Bishrapura late at night. Meanwhile, near Bishrapura Dhani, a person saw a police vehicle, ran away from it, and hid in a room of stubble. When the police chased him and searched the room, 50 kg of poppy husk were recovered from the plastic packets hidden in it.

Police have registered a case under NDPS against the accused, Vinod Kumar, son of Hanuman, a resident of Bishrapura, and his two brothers, Swarn Kumar and Laxman Kumar.
