Jerusalem: In a shocking revelation, Israel announced on Friday that forensic reports indicate the Bibas brothers, whose bodies were returned by Hamas, were killed with “bare hands” just days after their abduction in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) accused Hamas of murdering the two young boys in cold blood and attempting to conceal their actions afterward. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated, “Ariel and Kfir Bibas were murdered by terrorists in cold blood. The terrorists did not shoot the two young boys—they killed them with their bare hands. Afterwards, they committed horrific acts to cover up these atrocities.”
The IDF confirmed that forensic examinations showed that Kfir, just 10 months old, and his older brother Ariel, aged four, were brutally killed while being held hostage in Gaza no later than November 2023, weeks after their kidnapping on October 7, 2023. They were taken from their home along with their mother, Shiri Bibas, during the initial attack.
This announcement followed the revelation that Hamas had not returned Shiri’s body but instead sent back that of a Gazan woman, claiming there had been a mix-up during an Israeli airstrike. Hagari asserted that the evidence clearly disproves Hamas’s claims that the boys were killed in an airstrike, stating, “Ariel and Kfir were not killed in an airstrike. They were murdered in cold blood by terrorists.”
U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz expressed his outrage at the killings, labeling them “pure evil” and asserting that “Hamas must be destroyed.” He emphasized his condolences for the Bibas family and all Israelis affected by this violence.
Hagari noted that the boys were killed in Gaza “no later” than November 2023, a month after the massacre carried out by Hamas on October 7. The boys’ father, Yarden Bibas, was also taken hostage but was released alive by Hamas on February 1.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed profound sorrow over the deaths of the Bibas brothers, holding up their photo and lamenting, “These perfect children, just four years old and less than one year old, were snatched from their mother’s arms by Hamas savages.” He praised Shiri’s efforts to protect her children and condemned the brutality of their murder, vowing to pursue justice for those responsible. “Who kidnaps a little boy and a baby and murders them? Monsters. That’s who,” he stated, promising to honor the memory of Ariel and Kfir and ensure that those who executed such acts face justice.
