Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong critique of opposition parties during a public meeting in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
He accused these parties of constantly spreading propaganda and falsehoods against the BJP government, asserting that voters recognize the positive work done by the BJP. During his visit to Odisha, where he is attending the all-India DG/IGP conference, PM Modi addressed party workers at a felicitation event after arriving at Biju Patnaik International Airport.
Modi remarked that the opposition, which has been out of power at the national level for over a decade, feels entitled to power and is frustrated with the electorate for choosing other leaders. He claimed that this anger has led them to conspire against the nation and mislead the public, describing their activities as a “shop of lies and propaganda” that has intensified over the years.
He urged citizens and BJP members to stay vigilant and raise awareness to counter the misinformation spread by the opposition. Modi further accused these power-hungry individuals of perpetuating falsehoods, noting that they have abandoned their previous slogan, “Chowkidar chor hai,” and are solely focused on regaining power for personal gain.
The Prime Minister praised the BJP government in Odisha, led by Mohan Charan Majhi, for keeping its promises to the people and highlighted the BJP’s commitment to prioritizing Odisha, regardless of the ruling party. He mentioned that the DGP conference is being held in Odisha for the first time and announced an upcoming Indian Navy demonstration at the Blue Flag Beach on December 4.
Additionally, he noted that the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will take place in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to 10, attracting Indian-origin participants from around the world and providing a significant boost to Odisha’s tourism sector.
After the felicitation event, PM Modi visited the Raj Bhawan, where he was warmly welcomed by thousands of locals and cultural groups showcasing traditional performances along the route. Later, he held a crucial two-hour meeting with BJP MLAs, MPs, and senior leaders at the state office.
PM Modi is set to participate in the All-India Conference of Director Generals/Inspector Generals of Police 2024 from November 30 to December 1 at the State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhawan.
