Taking a big step in security breach case of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Punjab AAP’s Government has suspended Bathinda Superintendent of Police Gurbinder Singh. SP has been found accused of dereliction of duty. The action has been taken nearly after 2 years.
On January 5, 2022, PM Modi’s visit to Hussainiwala was cancelled following a security lapse. Now the action has been taken in the same case.
Gurbinder Singh, SP of Bathinda has been suspended with immediate effect as per the orders from Punjab Home Ministry. In report submitted by Punjab Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav in October stated that Gurbinder Singh, then SP, operations, did not perform his duty properly.
Matter of security lapse of PM Modi
On January 5th, 2022, convoy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained stranded on a flyover for nearly 20 minutes due to blockade of protesting farmers. Following a lapse, PM returned back without attending any event or rally. At that time, Charanjit Singh Channi led congress government was in power in the state.
