New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the ‘Grameen Bharat Mahotsav’ today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This six-day festival, running from January 4 to 9, celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit and cultural heritage of rural India.
The theme for this year is ‘Building a Resilient Rural India for Viksit Bharat 2047,’ with the motto ‘Gaon Badhe, Toh Desh Badhe’ (If the village progresses, the country progresses). The event aims to promote rural development through innovation, self-reliance, and collaboration.
Key objectives include improving rural infrastructure, enhancing financial inclusion, supporting sustainable agriculture, and empowering rural women through entrepreneurship. Special attention will be given to North-East India, focusing on ensuring economic stability and financial security for rural communities.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Mahotsav will gather government officials, entrepreneurs, artisans, and other stakeholders to discuss how to leverage technology and innovative practices for rural transformation. The event will feature interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions aimed at strengthening rural economies and livelihoods.
Cultural heritage will also be highlighted through live performances and exhibitions that showcase India’s diverse traditions and crafts. Ultimately, the Mahotsav seeks to create a roadmap for collective rural transformation by integrating modern advancements with traditional knowledge.
The PMO emphasized that by focusing on sustainable practices, innovation, and inclusivity, the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav aims to play a significant role in achieving a self-reliant and developed India.
