Mohali: Punjab Advocate General (AG) Gurminder Singh Gary has resigned from his post. According to sources, he has submitted his resignation to the government citing personal reasons. In February, resignations were taken from 232 law officers

The Punjab government had recently sought resignation from all its 232 law officers. Which was described as a routine process to restructure the office and increase efficiency. Now, after the resignation of the Advocate General, the government will have to appoint a new AG.

5th resignation in two years

In the last two years, there have been several changes in the post of Advocate General in Punjab. Earlier, Anmol Rattan Sidhu and Vinod Ghai have held this post. In the last two years, Punjab has seen the resignation of five Advocate Generals, one of whom held the post for only a month. Although there is no official statement on this resignation yet, this change reflects the instability in the legal system of the state.
