The counting of votes has commenced for the by-elections in four Punjab Assembly constituencies, which recorded a voter turnout of 63.91% on November 20. A total of 45 candidates, including three women, contested in these elections. The key players in this race are the BJP, Congress, and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The constituencies involved—Gidderbaha, Barnala, Chabbewal, and Dera Baba Nanak—saw intense campaigning. These four seats became vacant after the MLAs were elected to the Lok Sabha earlier this year.
