Punjab forms High power committee against drugs: Harpal Singh Cheema to lead

Chandigarh:  A five-member high power committee has been formed in the war against drugs launched by the Punjab government. The committee’s job will be to monitor the action being taken against drugs. Five ministers have been included in the committee. The committee will be headed by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema. While cabinet minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Aman Arora, Balbir Singh, Laljit Singh Bhullar and Taranpreet Sondh will be members of the committee.

The committee will take feedback from the ground and submit a report to the CM

A committee was formed by the Punjab government under ‘WAR ON DRUGS’. This committee will work on the ground. It will go among the people at the village level. It will talk to them. It will also see whether the campaign being run by the government is going on properly or not. The committee will submit its report to CM Bhagwant Mann. After this, the process of improvement will start. The government is focused on completely eliminating drugs in Punjab by the 2027 assembly elections.
